wrap it up card

hi all
This weekend is my grandads birthday..he is 80+ & we were all going to go out for dinner to celebrate...but as luck would have it we are all getting sick...so we wont be able to go see him til next weekend when i hope we are all better as i dont want him to catch the horrible flu we have!

I wanted to make him a card from the new cartridge i got a few weeks ago called 'wrap it up'. At first i thought the gravestone card would be funny but i could just imagine how my family would take it...they can seem quite serious at times...even though im sure my grandad would of had a laugh.....but what is with the saying on there "better off dead" what kind of occasion calls for that saying?? lol

so anyway after cutting out the tombstone & having a think i decided to go with the old classic car card...after all he is one of a kind!

I cut the car & the card at 4.5inches...its quite a largish card...but grandads sight isnt what it used to be...so bigger is better!
I then twisted some twine & stuck it down & then tied 2 knots ....stamped a Happy birthday & added kaiser pewter pearls to it...i used foam tape to raise the car up from the base of the card also!

So now that i have an extra week...i can work on his birthday present when i feel better!

summer fun layout...when its cold outside!!

well as you all know its winter in australia...so what can i do to feel warm again?

My son is actually down at the beach today with his class learning about how to protect the sand dunes & how to keep the beaches tidy!! i bet its cold down there as its very WINDY today!!

frosted designs fabulous friday challenge

i just did this layout for the fabulous Friday challenge...tomorrow is friendship day so in honour of that Frosted Designs wanted everyone to do a layout, card ect on friendship! If you want to join in & have a chance of winning a fab prize head on over to Frosted Designs blog

As im doing my high school photos i decided to scrap a page of us all together when we were in year 10....we had been friends since year 8...and although life now has taken us in different directions we still keep in contact in some form or another!

I cut out the frogs from Paisley cricut cartridge...one at 4inches the other at 3.5inches.....I also got to try out my new Sew easy Loop'de'loop head...i also i rocked in several places and used my threading water punch....I embossed the frogs tummys by inking them blue & using some sparkle embossing powder...same with the word "crazy" which summed us up as high school friends.

Zooballoo to you!

Well i have one kid home sick today & i am not that much better myself...silly cold weather is making us all get colds...ive also been sneezing constantly...which isnt fun!

So onto my first cartridge for my 'oh my gosh how did i get so many cartridges & will i ever use them all' challenge!
As i am working my way through my old photos of high school to scrap i found photos i took when i went to the zoo in year 11 for human biology class...so what better cartridge to use than ZOOBALLOO!!

I will be adding more animals & will also see what else i can do with this cartridge

challenging myself

Hi all

Its very late (or should i say morning!) and im about to head off to bed ....but thought i should set myself a challenge each week to use a cricut cartridge...i have over 70 of them....eeekkk!!! how did that happen?? so i better use them right??

So to start the first week off i have decided to use Zooballoo for the first time....so stay tuned for something with that cartridge appearing on my blog soon.....for now its time to get some sleep

funky monkey bookmarks

Its the weekend here!! YAY!!! My husband has gone out fishing with a friend all day....so i hope he brings in some fish! I have just done the washing & made some cupcakes for my kiddies & now its me time....while my youngest sleeps!

This week at my kids school has been busy...busy....busy!!
I volunteer 3 days a week with helping kids to read/write/pronounce words ect...also i helped out in my daughters class so i felt like i was always at school this week!

My daughters class held a "book cafe" for those that had successfully read a certain amount of books & the cafe was a reward. The day before the "cafe" opened we had to make the delicious cakes, biscuits & muffins. My group of kids made yummy orange & choc chip muffins....they looked fantastic, other groups made anzac biscuits, chocolate chip cookies, chocolate cakes .....it was chocolate overload!! They all had lots of fun measuring & sorting out how much of each ingredient we needed & preparing it all.

I made some quick & easy monkey bookmarks for all the kids for the book cafe
