Christmas is on its way!!

Hi
I have been making some teacher gifts for my kids teachers this year. I bought some lovely tea light candles from party lite which smell divine!! I bought pop fusion & a cinnaberry one which reminds me of Christmas!!

I have finally found a reason for cutting the Xmas tree box on tags bags boxes & more ...think it may be the first time i have used the free cart that i got with miss pink gypsy!

I used clear acetate sheets in a4 size that are supposedly used for overhead projectors...but i haven't seen one of those in a classroom for ages..i know our school have smart boards so not even a piece of chalk is in sight these days!
i bought my pack of 10 sheets from spotlight when they had a sale on stationary

I also made a smaller gift for the teacher assistants using the snowflake gift box with Sawyers Place red & white washi tape...this tape reminds me of the candy cane lollies you get at Xmas time...so easy to use!!

I really need to get a move on with these xmas gifts....i have a few birthdays coming up to buy for also!

here is a card i made for a kindy friend of my son....i have to fill it with lollies before her party ...i loved making this card as its so girly!!

With the card i used stampin up sweet treat cup & cuttlebug dies & stampin up stamp.
I made it so that once she has eaten the lollies the number 5 will show through the hole/cup ....i hope she likes it!!

i better get organised & take my little monkey to kindy
have a great day...the countdown to christmas has began!!

Ahoy there ye pirates!!!

Arggghhh the pirate party is done with....all shipmates had a blast!

I had lots of fun getting my sons pirate party organized & now that its done i think i need to focus on Christmas!!

Here are a few things i made using my cricut for his 5th birthday
I made this for the table centre piece....i then chucked some chocolate gold coins around it...which i found surprisingly most still there at the end of the party!!
I called the ship S S NOAH.

Nothing cricut here.... just the party plates & everyone got a choc coin

This was his cake....he had wanted this cake from the first time he had seen it in the shops....woolies was able to write his name on it when we ordered it!

I found these cute sails online for cupcakes...the kids all wanted a cupcake!!

We had lots of games for the kids....we did pass the parcel, find the sea creature, Pirate Pete says, Pirate bobs, blast the cannons and then a treasure hunt to find the treasure chest! Here are the kids looking for the clue....i made the bottles & clues & sadly they all went home with some of the kids! they loved the bottles...as did i!

They were super easy to make!! grab some clean 600ml plastic bottles & some masking tape & away you go! it does get tedious after the first 2 bottles but the joy on their faces was worth it!! I then Tim holtzed it with distress inks & cut out some cute pirate decos from wrapping paper & cut out the numbers with miss pink cricut for the bottles.....for the clues i found a great old world map & in paint i wrote the clues out over the top...printed & then cut them out!!

Noah really wanted this pinata when we seen it....i grunged it up again using tim & cut some piratey things on the cricut ie a pirates life for me, pirate party & some skulls not to mention the big X marks the spot for the treasure hunt!!

By now you might be about ready to walk the plank...but hang in there im nearly done!!

I bought some bubbles for the kids as a prize...however they did not look at all like a pirate would own such a thing...so miss pink came to the rescue & cut out tiny little skulls with ebony vinyl...argghhh now they looked the part!!

I made a banner plus a pirate party poster which we put up ....yeah i think im nearly done.....

I also cut out Pirate ships for one of the games...red beard, blue beard & black beards ships!!

I made these lunch bags into pirate loot bags for the kids....they each got one with their first pirate prize & then used them for the pinata at the end of the day...arrghhh they took forever to do & Timmy came through for me again...those inky squares are Tim holtz & i used a skull left over (template) from the cricut to ink up & some alpha stamps & then i drew treasure maps islands boat etc on each square.....let me just say im one dedicated party planner!!!

So there me hearties i think i covered the party quite well ....nobody got eaten by a crocodile or made to walk the plank...all pirates were returned to their landlubbers in one piece with a huge smile a balloon sword & a rather large amount of loot...plus those scurvy pirates that stole me treasure hunt bottles!!

hope you made it through all those pics in one piece...if i have forgotten something keep an eye out for another pirate post!!

wrap it up card

hi all
This weekend is my grandads birthday..he is 80+ & we were all going to go out for dinner to celebrate...but as luck would have it we are all getting sick...so we wont be able to go see him til next weekend when i hope we are all better as i dont want him to catch the horrible flu we have!

I wanted to make him a card from the new cartridge i got a few weeks ago called 'wrap it up'. At first i thought the gravestone card would be funny but i could just imagine how my family would take it...they can seem quite serious at times...even though im sure my grandad would of had a laugh.....but what is with the saying on there "better off dead" what kind of occasion calls for that saying?? lol

so anyway after cutting out the tombstone & having a think i decided to go with the old classic car card...after all he is one of a kind!

I cut the car & the card at 4.5inches...its quite a largish card...but grandads sight isnt what it used to be...so bigger is better!
I then twisted some twine & stuck it down & then tied 2 knots ....stamped a Happy birthday & added kaiser pewter pearls to it...i used foam tape to raise the car up from the base of the card also!

So now that i have an extra week...i can work on his birthday present when i feel better!

have a scrappy weekend!
