Etching glass

Hi
well for the last few months ive been on the hunt for etching cream....i went everywhere to find some but had no luck! I then searched ebay again & found some.....i needed it to make my grandmas 90th birthday present for this weekend....i had given up on the idea as i didnt think there would be a chance it would arrive here within 2 days from over east...but it arrived this morning!!

I have never etched before so was surprised at how easy it is....i used contact ( my vinyl also hasnt arrived from overseas yet) & my cricut & i had a few glasses & vase ready to be etched!!

Here is the Glass

& a photo of the etching cream on the glass...i scrapped off the excess & put it back into the bottle before rinsing the glass in water to remove the remaining etching cream.
I also did a vase/candle holder with a dragonfly & grandmas year of birth 1921. I used Storybook cart & i cant think if it was gypsy wandering for the dragonfly or not.

I cant believe grandma is going to be 90 in a few days time....she is amazing!!

Western Australia is supposed to get a cyclone come through in the next few days...im hoping it passes us & doesn't cause any damage to anyone or anything.....stay safe everyone!!

Sew easy to use!

The other night my friend & i went to a scrapbooking stores crop night...the best part was that they shop stayed open...i was very good though & only bought a few things..2 embossing folders, some black  foam squares & a Sew Easy! I got the last one on in the store which made my day...not so much for my friend who also wanted one!  I bought some pink & browns floss
 to go with it. I love that the needle goes into the handle so its all in one handy dandy tool!! lol

Here is my first attempt at using it on a layout that night....it was SO Easy!!!

Hope everyone is having a great start to the week...not long now & kids will be back to school!! 2 more birthday parties to attend & Australia Day is also coming up this week!

scrapbook layouts

I Did some scrapbooking recently!! YAY ME!!! its so hard to find time when the kids are on holidays...im constantly cleaning up after them or taking them places ect ect.....so here is a page i got done....i do need to find time to go print some photos to finish it.

Here is a Secret Santa gift i made for the Aussie cricut Mb section. I filled it with Christmas lollies & a few other goodies. The criteria was to use something recycled & to contain at least a few cricut cuts....i used Joys of the Season

 I made all my christmas cards last year. These ones used the joys of the season christmas tree & kaisercraft papers.

I also used the free stamps that came in the latest DoCrafts Creativity magazine ....dont they look cute!

Fires & floods & funny places to visit

We have been having a great holiday...we went for a day trip down south to donnybrook to visit the apple fun park last Friday. We went through Harvey & visited Harvey Fresh & the BIG ORANGE. The kids thought it was cool & now want to go visit all the other BIG THINGS in Western Australia!  We will see about that!

All proceeds to visit the big orange go straight to telethon ( a charity that helps sick children in hospital)
We went through Clifton lakes & looked at all the rural property's that had cows, horses & tractors rolling out hay. A few days later it was all set alight by an arsonist & several families lost homes & livestock, the fire burnt for days while the other side of the country in Qld was flooding.

After we had lunch & a play at Donnybrook we got an ice cream & then headed on to Gnomesville before heading home. We took a gnome to leave there with our family name & area we are from. We couldn't believe how many gnomes there were living in Gnomesville!! The kids thought it was great & had fun looking at all the different gnomes & reading where they had come from.

Our thoughts & prayers go out to all those in natural disaster areas around the world but in particular those close to home in Qld & NSW ♥

Happy New Year 2011!!

Happy new year...hope everyone is doing well for the beginning of 2011. So what do you have for a new years resolution?? I have a few NEED TO DO's this year..Number 1 is the obvious that most of us have....lose some weight, exercise more. Second is to obviously find more time or use my time more wisely to scrapbook & do crafts!!
This year im sending my youngest off to Kindy for 2.5 days a week...people have asked so what are you going to do in that free time?? i really dont know...but i do know i would love to help out at the school more & im not ready to get a job just yet..i want to be there for his kindy year like i was with the other 2...next year i will most likely get a job...but i really just want to be a mum for 1 more year...so 2011 is going to be an exciting year!!

1st  day of January means taking down the Christmas decorations...i have taken them off the tree & will put the tree away soon. The wreath on the front door & other decorations around the home will also come down at some time today

We will also try to make time for resolution number 1 today either a swim at the beach or a walk around the block.....i may even go sort out some of my scrapbooking stuff or play with my gypsy!!

GUESS WHAT SANTA GOT ME!!!

Merry Christmas Everyone...i hope you all had a fantastic Christmas day & Boxing Day...i know i had a great Christmas spent with my family. We unwrapped our gifts in the morning after santa had visited during the night...the kids were so excited!! N got a new ben 10 bike, Ms C got a new DsI & Master J got a Basketball Stand/hoop set. Daddy got a new esky & other guy stuff & I got a sewing machine & a GYPSY!!!!
I havent had anytime yet to cut anything out with it...but i have loaded mostly all of my cartridges with it & as they have the offer i got 5 free cartridges....Tags,bags boxes and more, Christmas,Black letter, printing press & indie art plus the 2 gypsy ones wanderings & font!!

Im hoping to get cricutting soon with it....but i have so much housework since not doing any for 2 days!! and today its going to be a really hot day...40 degrees!!! YIKES i hope we dont sweat ourselves away!!  So i will get the washing done...wrapping paper mess on the floor & dishes all done & swept & then i can play with my new toys...just like the kids have been doing with theirs!!

Hope you all got some great gifts...even if it was just spending the days with those you love ♥

christmas is nearly upon us!!

Wow hasn't the year gone so fast? its nearly Christmas & to be honest i haven't finished my Christmas gift shopping!! I do hope i get it done before Christmas!!
I have made a few bits & pieces like lolly bags for Christmas day along with some banana muffins & choc chip muffins....all i need to do is decorate them

Reindeer food was also made & ready for the reindeer on Xmas eve joys of the season was used for both these bag toppers!



It been OK having the kids home for the holidays but they are now at the age of wanting to argue with each other.....which gives me the most horrible headaches ever!!

Here is a photo of my first ever cricut freezer paper t shirt!! My daughter didn't have a Christmas top so i made her this! She loved it!! Its from Joys of the Season cartridge....i used freezer paper, and some fabric paints ( i had this fabric dimensional paint for ages so was surprised that it still worked!) I also used glitter for the gold rings...it all washed up really well & she has worn the top several times already this holiday season
